The One Difference Between Success and Failure
It’s more simple than you realise.
We all want to be successful, and we’ve got our own ideas of what that means. It could be a full bank account, the dream house or the ability to do what you love everyday, and earn an income from it. For me it’s the latter.
I’ve been reading Medium for a couple of weeks now, and I’ve found loads of fantastic articles, giving advice and useful insights.
One thing that has stood out for me, and its something I come across everyday, is that there are a number of differences between people who are successful and those who never quite make it. For me, there is only one that truly makes the difference.
Please note, it’s important to mention that I have yet to come across any articles that talk about the importance of having money to begin with, so what you already have in your bank account is immaterial. Phew!
The differences between those who succeed and those who don’t, come down to personal qualities and actions.
So what is the difference?
There are numerous ideas about how you can ensure your success. There are pages and pages about how to start your morning to maximise productivity, how to fill your mind with positive thoughts and that having an innate belief that you will be successful, will contribute to your end goal.
All helpful concepts — but not the most important.
You can employ lots of these scientific based processes, but I believe it boils down to 1 thing.
The refusal to give up!
You can get up early, read a ton of books, watch webinars and do courses, but the one thing that separates the successful from the failures — is their dogged determination not to give up.
We will fail over and over and over again. If we decide that it’s too hard and stop trying, we will never achieve our goals. If something is worth fighting for, we fight for it. If we’re not prepared to try and fail and try again, maybe we weren’t really committed to it in the first place.
Life is not easy and if things were easy, they would be boring. It’s up to us to decide whether we are content to live the same old life, or whether we want to reach for the stars and do something special.
I consider myself to be an undeterred dreamer and I refuse to allow my failures to stop me. We all have wobbles where we doubt ourselves, but the best thing I can do is try, fail and learn from my mistakes.
Otherwise, what is the point?
